Charon was tired of being the pawn of SysDef (the UC faction dedicated to fighting piracy) and the Crimson Fleet. She further came to the conclusion that neither of them should have the great treasure. It's better if the treasure stays lost in space. Being a double agent was exciting but very soon the day would come when she would have to choose one side,
which would mean doom for the other side
. Somehow she took a liking to Delgado. Therefore she won't turn against him. She doesn't want to fight the UC either because being part of the UC brings many conveniences, especially when she becomes a citizen. Luckily, she doesn't need to complete the double agent mission in order to get the citizenship.
Spoiler
The UC Vanguard quests that revolve around the Terrormorphs lead to the UC citizenship.
There's still the other UC Vanguard mission (see first paragraph of this post) but like so many other things, this one can wait.

She now gathered enough experience to continue the Freestar Collective storyline...

"Charon: Now I'm ready."

After completing the first half of the "Deputized" quest she became a deputy

Freestar Collective quest: Where Hope is Built Deputized, second half
(Edit: Where Hope is Built is the next quest)

Charon: "... and is the seat comfortable enough?"

"Where is Vasco again?"

I've long since given up looking for Vasco and summon him with Come Here instead.

Charon: "Now that we are complete, we can finally travel to our destination."

To be continued...

Charon's current ship, an Ecliptic Claymore

How she got the ship:
The ship landed near a farm on Jemison. When she boarded the ship, no one was there. She couldn't take it at first because she lacked the last rank in Piloting. So she had no choice but to leave the ship and come back later once she reached this rank. As soon as she left the ship, the crew, a squad of Ecliptic, came towards her. She defeated them and went to the UC Vanguard pilot simulator to destroy ships. After enough ships were destroyed she reached the necessary rank and she could finally call the giant ship her own.

Freestar Collective quest: Deputized, second half (continuation)
(I made a mistake with the order of the quests. "Where Hope is Built" is the next quest. I thought that Deputized is completed after getting the Deputy badge. Later I realized that this part was only the first half of the quest.)

The next destination of my team was a farm on Montara Luna

We were eagerly awaited

A group of Ruffians intimated the woman who runs the farm

The Ruffians were hiding in the canyon. Their footprints were the only trace.

While following the tracks a number of creatures attacked us, such as this one

Charon: "That escalated quickly."

The Ruffians didn't stand a chance against my team. After Charon showed Ranger Wilcox the slate that she took from the Ruffian Leader's corpse the mission was completed.

Before Charon returned to Akila City to get the next mission, she wanted to explore the moon a little more:

With the upcoming release of the Shattered Space DLC, I will be returning to Starfield. I will probably continue with Charon. Thanks to my documentation in this thread, I'm sure I'll find my way back into the game after a break of almost a year. I plan to play only the DLC at first, because the main game just got too boring and repetitive for me after a while. I know there are a lot of updates now with improvements such as the improved surface maps and the buggy. That's why I haven't completely written off the main game yet. And there are plenty of new mods, which enhance the game, available - but I will deal with this topic at a later point in time.

Finally, here are a few screenshots that I took before my break and hadn't published until now:

Roaming Polvo

The longer Charon stared at the HopeTech building, the more she got cold feet. She had to take her mind off things and decided to explore the surroundings for a short while.

As she approached a research laboratory, she was attacked by a terromorph. She used all her strength to bring the creature down.

The scientist was very grateful for her help.

The research laboratory

The time flew by. It wasn't until many hours later that she remembered her actual task.

Back to Hope Town

The meeting with Ron Hope, the founder and president of HopeTech

Charon: "You are Ron Hope! I've heard a lot about you."

(In this picture I tried out the facial expressions of the Photo Mode for the first time. They were added by a patch.)

Ron Hope: "I hope you have only heard the best. What can I do for you?"

Charon reported that one of his ships had been stolen from the factory. She is determined to catch the ship thief. Ron Hope told her that the stolen ship had also been spotted in Neon. Neon?! She'd always wanted to go there. There are so many stories about this pleasure city.

Before Charon went to her ship, she visited the factory and the other rooms in the HopeTech building.

On the way to her ship, she was approached by a bounty hunter who wanted to hire Charon. As Charon didn't have time for this at the moment, she told her that she would think about it.

Take-off for Neon

Freestar Collective quest: Shadows in Neon

Charon: "It's time for me to get dressed up."

Charon: "So this is Neon."

Freestar Collective quest: Shadows in Neon (continued)

Charon sought out Jaylen Pryce, a ranger stationed in Neon, to help her find the ship thief.

Jaylen's informant revealed the requested information after Charon helped the informant out of a predicament. The ship thief was this woman:

Now it was a matter of finding the people who actually ordered the ship theft. The ship thief handed Charon an encrypted data carrier with clues. Charon flew back to Akila to have the data carrier decrypted.

End of the quest. Before we continue with the next quest of the Freestar Collective, here are a few impressions of the amusement city of Neon:

Exploring Neon

Madame Sauvage's Place

The Euphorika

She met this guy, a sprayer, at Euphorika.

He sprayed this robot, the only friend of a store owner.

Charon persuaded the sprayer to pay for cleaning the robot.

Charon helped a DJ in the Astral Lounge to retrieve the disk with her songs.

Neon is a city located on a large platform, ...

... which in turn is located on a planet that consists entirely of water.

Hey, Charon! Didn't you want to dedicate yourself to the Freestar Collective's next mission?... Yes, the volatile girl still lacks some discipline.

The generational colony ship
(quest: First Contact)

Charon discovered a mysterious ship in the orbit of Porrima II.

All attempts to make contact were unsuccessful. She only received incomprehensible noises in response. So she decided to dock with the ship and uncover the mystery surrounding it.

The ship turned out to be a generational colony ship that left Earth about 200 years ago in search of a new home. The ship's builder believed that the Earth was heading for an extinction-level event. The ship set out when there was no grav drive. By the time it finally reached its destination, several generations of humans had seen the light of day and died.

The inside of the ship

Porrima II was the planet with the best conditions for the ship's crew to survive. Unfortunately, it had already been colonized. A luxury resort called Paradiso had settled there. Charon was able to persuade the resort's board of directors to allow the colonists to settle on the planet. The big catch: they have to work off their debt to the resort as servants. For the colonists, this was still better than searching forever for another home. They were also eager to finally breathe some fresh air and feel the breeze on their faces.

Together with a troop of colonists, Charon flew to Paradiso with her ship.

After Charon had made sure that the colonists had arrived safely at their new home, she explored the resort.

The Mantis

Charon had relaxed enough and was looking forward to a new adventure. She remembered a note she had found on a dead Spacer a very long time ago. It spoke of a secret outpost. That was her next destination.

Shortly after landing on the planet where the secret outpost was located, Charon was greeted by a Spacer. He warned her to leave the Lair of the Mantis immediately before he attacked her. Lair of the Mantis? That made Charon even more curious.

Charon fought her way through countless enemies and traps until she finally reached the Lair of the Mantis. There she found the armor and the ship of the bounty hunter The Mantis.

Freestar Collective quest: On the Run

Next, Charon went to the Red Mile, a casino on Porrima III. The ship thief not only gave Charon the encrypted data carrier, but also two names. Charon hoped to find someone in the casino who can make contact with one of the instigators.

The informant at the casino told Charon that only the owner of the casino can make contact with the person in question.

Mei Devine, the owner of the Red Mile

As is often the case, Charon has to provide something in return for the desired information. But does it have to be a life-threatening challenge?

The beginning of the Red Mile Run

Charon survived the race and Mei kept her word.

The target lived a luxurious life.

But the money didn't help him when he had to deal with Charon's wit and firepower. Charon was rewarded with another encrypted data carrier.
