There's a lot to read, Steve! Haven't come around reading all your stories, as I am still busy with LOD for the Floating Island, and my own stories about Ysmir. Sofar I have written a few chapters for Battlespire and Arena, and started with (and nearly finished) a chapter for Skyrim.
I have decided to skip finishing this playthrough, start over and get the LOD done first. I have a few ideas, but nothing solid, and I have prepared myself having to generate LOD a few times. I will probably start with a minimum of mods, probably only environmental, and only for the Tamriel and maybe the Solstheim worldspace.

Happy New Year To The Community And All In It!
I posted this in the Steam forums and AFK Mods, and I will post it here, as well.
I just want to take the time to wish a very happy New Year to the community and all its members. Having been active in the Skyrim forums for nearly seven years, thousands of hours, and countless posts (over 33,000 in the Steam forums alone), and some lesser time (and far, far fewer posts -LOL!) spent here at Modding on the Spectrum, I feel like you are all friends and family whom I love, and so it is only appropriate that I send best wishes to you all.
The last year is just about done and about to get swept away by the incoming tide of a new one. There is no knowing what flotsam and jetsam this incoming tide will bring, or what kind of treasures or wonders will wash in - all we can do is wait and see, and hope for the best as we wade through time's surf.
Like many things, what gets washed ashore on the sands of our lives can be used in many ways. Even the detritus and wreckage of everyday things can be turned to good, and beauty and joy twisted to the unpleasant and macabre. All is what we make of it, so make the best of it when you can.
But enough of this seriousness! I hope that you all have wonderful plans for ushering in the New Year - even if it is just sitting at home and quietly enjoying it! I wish you all the best, and may you and yours enjoy a happy, healthy, prosperous - and safe - new year!
ENJOY!!

I couldn't have said it any better, even far from it!
I don't know how often I have wished anyone all the best for 2023. I've lost count! But, for what it's still worth: all the best in 2023 for any in this community and your loved ones. And ... may this forum grow and grow to the greatest heights, which in my opinion it already is!
All afternoon I have been busy to get LOD generation done, but to no avail, and now I'm out of ideas. None of the plugins showed any errors. The area in which the game CTDs is even a little bigger than before. Is it DynDOLOD or something else? I haven't got the faintiest idea!! I am going to remove all generated LOD, and for the time deal with it!
It's New Years Eve. Time for a drink and some good fish food, and some bubbles later.

Now I have more time to reply to your recent posts. I celebrated New Year's Eve/New Year with my best friend. She likes sushi like I do and guess what we ordered
. We listened to many disco songs from the past which were presented in a TV show. After the show and some videos on YouTube we went outside for a short moment seeing the fireworks. She told me that she saw someone in the supermarket who bought fireworks with a value of 500 euros
!
Let's see what 2023 brings to us. I stopped thinking about New Year's resolutions some years ago because I put them into action very rarely. All I can do is trying to make the best out of each situation and improvise if needed. Maybe I will finish bigger projects or they take another year. Maybe I will take a greater break from the creation of mods. Maybe I will play some other games than the usual suspects (i.e. Skyrim and/or Fallout 4) or I just stick to them forever. Who knows?

Two heads are better than one - they say. I could test if I experience the CTD as well if you wish. Maybe we come to a solution together.

That would be very nice! I will create an archive (7z) and provide you with a link in PM, unless others want to take a look at it also. It requires SE 1.6.640 with some CC content (Fishing, The Cause & Umbra), and of course Dawnguard and Dragonborn.

This is really the first time I made a complete mess of my Skyrim/Skyrim SE install!! Even after removing every possible LOD generation, created by xLODGen, TexGen and DynDOLOD, the game still CTDs when trying to get near the Floating Island.
Actually the area in which I get a CTD is even larger than with LOD generation, shortly after passing Fort Greymoor and also shortly after travelling from the Coffee House to the island.
This evening I will do a complete clean re-install of Skyrim SE and then only install the strictly necessary requirements for Floating Island. If that also doesn't work ...

I don't think there will ever be a Floating Island mod!! Even with a completely clean re-install I will encounter a CTD. Latest while running from Fort Greymoor to Dustman's Cairn. What the heck! If I want to finish this mod, I probably may have to start over, and I don't really know if I want to do that. I have one more idea up into my sleaves. I will try that, but then, if that doesn't work, it's probably over!
