Although my backlog (or pile of shame) of unplayed games is pretty small (I buy games very rarely), it bothers me a lot that I failed to combat it. Don't forget the games that I want to buy (someday). I still play the same old games in the last couple of years: Fallout 4 and Skyrim Special Edition. Using mods and making mods keep me busy enough. But there's the feeling that I'm missing something out, all the adventures and the stories in the other games.
My backlog
Unplayed:
The Witcher 1 (DVD)
The Witcher 2 (Steam)
The Witcher 3 (GOG)
Tomb Raider (the remake, Steam)
Deus Ex: Human Revolution (DVD)
Bioshock: The Collection (Epic Games Store)
Wolfenstein: The New Order (Epic Games Store)
Duke Nukem Forever (DVD)
Assassin's Creed Odyssey (DVD)
Two Worlds II (Steam) (
Played in 2023)
Grand Theft Auto V (DVD)
Arcania (Steam) (started to play in April 2024)
Splinter Cell: Conviction (DVD)
Black & White 2 (DVD)
Elder Scrolls Online (Steam)
Metro 2033 (Steam)
Brink (Steam)
Anno 1404 (DVD)
The Settlers 7 (DVD)
Mass Effect LE (Steam)
Games that began to play but stopped:
Drakensang: The Dark Eye (DVD; not my type of game)
Games that began to play but never finished:
Dragon Age Origins (DVD)
Assassin's Creed 1 (DVD)
Games that I wanted to buy (and play someday):
Cyberpunk 2077
The Last of Us (1 + 2)
Red Dead Redemption (1 + 2)
The Outer Worlds
Theoretically, I could buy the games from the last list now but I know that I won't play them in the near future. That's the curse of a mod user/author with difficulties switching the focus on other things
.
What games are in your backlog and what games do you wanted to buy (but never did)? What do you do to combat your backlog?
