Gooooooooood Morning Tamriel!
Ah'vrie wishes you well. It is Fredas the 30th of Morning Star and thank the divines the weekend is nigh. It's a very chilly predawn at the inn. The blessed moons have set, but remember, they will be full tis Sundas so keep those silver weapons honed and close all weekend. The goddess' crazy puppies will be up to all sorts of mischief as always. Anyway, it's time for this one to tend the inn for our most honored guests. Excuse please while the fires are stoked, and fresh water is put to the flame...
Our brew of the day is Kahawa ya Congo, and the biscuits will have to wait on the markets this morning. Ah'vrie needs eggs and butter. This one actually considered keeping chickens and a cow. Ah'vrie visited a farm to see about purchasing a calf and several live chicks. He got within 100 paces of the coops and the wind shifted... No! Absolutely not near the inn. This one is happy to pay market prices for fresh eggs, butter, and flour. It might not be so bad for smoothskins, but even the memory makes this one's nose itch and eyes sting. *shudders* Anyway, let's see what today's mods look like over a fresh cuppa.
A quick shoutout to newmiller for their AIO Ultimate chain cuirass release

Vampirella comes to Skyrim, now in 6 colors and several fabric styles

Butterfly wings?
Grendel116 released Simple Potion Sickness as a first mod. Welcome
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecial ... ods/171095
"The mod uses a background quest to monitor potion consumption. It specifically targets items with the VendorItemPotion keyword. When the limit is reached, a spell is applied that targets armor rating (representing general weakness)"
You never expect this from a first mod. Simple, clean, and lightweight. Chug potions back to back and you get sick, Debuff lasts 8 hours so sleep is the cure. works with anything flagged with the potion keyword. 2 cookies, this could be a mod of the day. The old cat loves stumbling over gems like this. Thanks. tracking for now.
And then you get the other extreme... Welcome Nocturneblight
WTF dragons (Dragon breathe attacks are now BOOOOOOOOOM)
Moving right along
And somewhere in between IIuIIIdieII released Runekeepers Mask as their first. Welcome
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecial ... ods/171133
"Effects Include 100% magic regen and 20%reduced shout cooldown"
Buy it from the Riverwood blacksmith. No mention of the price but the old cat assumes it's a bargain. The old cat's not going to poke. For a pure mage build that embraces being dragonborn, this is a nice buff to have in the early game, and it's really no stronger than many of the vanilla robes you run across in the early game. Have a cookie
thearcherman ported dwarven implants by rms1314 as their first mod. Welcome
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecial ... ods/171171
"requires dawnguard (note this is the first mod ive ever uploaded and idk if it will work)"
We might want to hold off on downloading for a little while LOL. Thanks
Okay, a fresh cuppa in hand, lets look at a few from more seasoned modders
shazdeh2 released Fortify Attribute Refill Fix
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecial ... ods/171105
"when you drink a Fortify Stamina / Magicka potion or equip an enchantment with that effect, they restore same amount to the current pool. This does not make sense to me, but leaving that aside, this behavior opens up an exploit where you can keep equipping / unequipping a gear with those effects to get an endless supply of Magicka or Stamina.
This mod prevents that automatic refill"
It is not often you run across a new exploit. Ah'vrie will be testing this shortly. This one does have rings to increase magicka, and regen rate... Oh, right. This mod prevents such despicable behavior, You should be ashamed... Harumph
Khagiit released 3 in the last day or so
https://www.nexusmods.com/profile/Khagi ... ameId=1704
Dented Iron shield in Helgen, Shellbug helmet be gone, and 'Leather Armor Requires Steel Smithing Perk' ?
The last one asks the question "Why make hide/studded armor if the leather armor is already unlocked from the start?" A more reasonable solution would be to unlock hide armor. You don't need a forge to make a bear skin bra.

just saying
3ncanis released NOTWL or Vanilla Tundra Driftwood Remover - BOS
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecial ... ods/171125
"Works with any tree mod that replaces vanilla driftwood. No plugin."
What a difference, those dead rock trees are bloody ugly. Ah'vrie is glad he does not use NOTWL, but might just install the mod anyway, even the vanilla driftwood is ugly, and should have only been at the beach. It makes sense there, not the tundra.
Kaidan pre Thalmor by Bectile (HanShotFirst-LivTempleton)
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecial ... ods/166698
"Gives you the chance to meet Kaidan before he is captured by the Thalmor, at his camp."
Only works on Kaidan 2, and requires the current (Jan 2026) Version 5 update to the all in one. Make sure to read the mod pages. Some assembly required.
And finally, another unexpected gem.
Skyrok - A Weather Mod by imnotfamous
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecial ... ods/171093
"A simple, lightweight weather mod that improves nights, interiors, sky textures, and weather effects. It should be compatible with most mods."
The old cat must admit, He likes the thinking, the style, and the images. It's desaturated, a bit over sharpened, and the contrast could use a tweak, but this has a very unique 'better than vanilla' hazy look to it. The old cat might just have to test this. Should work well with a very light DOF. This one gets a cookie, and downloaded for testing.
And that will do for today. The fires are stoked, the kettles are scrubbed, and the old cat needs a fresh cuppa. We-B-Open!
