Aetherial Dawn - A Quick Start Overhaul by Stefan2102

This mod is eloquent in it's simplicity. You do your chargen in a pretty cell with basic starting gear to choose from, then your prompted for 'who you left the cave with' then you exit through the door after picking your gear to appear at any inn or dock. Your choice of who you leave the cave with is standing at the cave waiting. Script conditions are met. You don't have to be afraid of getting too close to Helgen. You also have the option of starting as a vampire or werewolf. Already patched for lux, and why I came to Skyrim.

The old cat finds beauty in the simplicity of it's execution. 2 cookies. Downloaded for testing.

Especially since the baby was half his weight, but such are the mysteries of the divines. Excuse please while the fires are stoked, and fresh water is put to the flame. This one is already brewing decaf... He see's the shaman today, yes he does.

Sophisticated is a good word. different decay rates and grace periods for each skill level, you can change the color of the bars in the skill UI to show gains and losses. You can even customize decay rates and grace periods by individual weapon types in the INI. Flexible...

This one gets a cookie, Needs to be tested over time, but it's a great concept. Thanks Tracking for now, but this will go into the new beast for testing.

The old cat is a little confused by this as there is no sample text. Each hold gets a book, and each book turns on 5 map markers in the hold to explore. Got it, love the idea, but did they write books with a bit of story, or do these just magially flash the locations on the map. Needs testing in game.

First of all, this is really cool, and it covers all of the major docks in the game. It's not perfect, but very well done. IE: some of the ships that are docked at Solstheim are bigger than the gap between the dock and the wall. But that's nit picking compared to what the mod brings to the game. This gets two cookies, and is definitely the mod of the day.

Our brew of the day is Istanbul espresso, and the biscuits will have to wait on the markets, Ah'vrie needs more flour and eggs. This is an inn not a farm after all. Learn something new every day. So it's not just NPCs that have health potions and are scripted to use them, They will also eat food in their inventory, and heal during combat, with no indications. This mod adds an edge glow effect and a chewing sound effect. Thanks.

Very Smurfy... The braziers look good, the plinths looked a little too blue, then the old cat realized they were grey and the author has a fantasy reshade running. Still, the old cat's not thrilled with the plinth. It's intended to be sculpted, but pretends to be natural. Your game your way, they don't look... bad.

You definitely want to read the mod page. Basically fire does more damage when it's not raining, shock does more in rain, and frost does more damage in the snow. All of which makes perfect sense. This is something specifically for the long game, but the question of how long comes to mind. The author addresses this with the choice of 'calendar or level' time between updates. The author intends for the player to start as a child "for best effect" which of course is an entire sub set of required new race mods and such. Love the idea, but this one still questions the execution. Requires the playable RS children mod, so the old cat is unsure how this would work with any other child overhauls. Ah'vrie never used this in oldrim, but worth a look. No idea how this would integrate with fertility mode.
