Goooooood morning Tamriel!
Ah'vrie wishes you well. it is Turdas the 10th of Frostfall, and a very pleasant predawn here on warm sands. The blessed moons waxed through the first quarter last night, and will be full a week from today, so it's time to hone those silver blades yet again. Anyway, it is time once again for this one to tend the inn for our most honored guests. Excuse please while the fires are stoked, and fresh water is brought to a boil...
Our brew of the day is classic Ristretto, and the biscuits are Sweet Loren's sugar cookies. Checking the hot sheets we have 31 new with the usual eclectic mix of jiggles, patches, and goofs. Let's see what catches an old cat's eye over a fresh cuppa.
Czechpharmacist released Nocturnal's Clothes are Playable
Another for the pile. No link needed, but thanks
sinzzzz released Selectable Transmute
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecial ... ods/131241
This mod adds a 'new' transmute spell, crafted at the tanning rack, that can convert / batch convert, iron to anything. Well, there goes the games economy, but it is convenient. The old at will take a hard pass on this, but your game your way.
Hjartulv released Tempering That Makes Sense
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecial ... ods/131214
An attempt to inject a little reality into the tempering system. You need oil to sharpen blades, Bow strings to rejuvenate bows, and sheet metal to fortify armor. And of course you have to craft the required materials. The old cat likes the concept from an RP perspective, but in truth, it just injects more tedium. IE: you craft sheet metal from Steel and charcoal, oil from different plants, and bowstrings from leather. Better than some, but still just adds extra steps. Thanks
Enodoc released Windhelm without Civil War - Jagged Crown and Thane for Non-Militants
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecial ... ods/131209
"Disconnects entry to Korvanjund from the Civil War quest The Jagged Crown, allowing you to get the Slow Time dragon shout and the Jagged Crown itself without ever joining the Civil War."
Alright, where to start? The old cat has no love of the stupid CW quest line, and makes no pretense otherwise. There are several other mods that allow you to buy Hjerim without joining the war. This goes a step further and allows you to become thane without taking sides, but it also allows you to collect the crown without doing those quests as well. That can come in handy if you're doing an LOTD playthrough. Thanks, not for old cats though.
HuiXingOfficial released Elemental Reaction
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecial ... ods/131195
"Bringing elemental reaction to Skyrim, where be triggered on actors that take damage from fire, frost, and shock (any two of the three), causing damage based on the attacker's level and adding special effects such as stagger and resistance reduction"
You'll want to read through the entire page, This one the old cat finds interesting. No mention on how dual enchanted weapons are handled. The idea that the elemental attacks would combine to have an additional effect has merit. IE: fire and frost combine to reduce elemental resistance... On the fence with this one, but flagged for testing. Thanks
And finally, the eye's have it...
Eyes Nouveaux by Novelyst
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecial ... ods/131210
An edited version of khisartin's latest eye mod which is available on
https://www.ddsworkshop.net/eyes-mod-3
"I've been personalising khisartin's latest eye mod ever since it came out, adding features, fixes, and customising textures, all in an effort to make it the very best that I could. After realising that I wasn't satisfied with the eye mod I had published on Nexus, I decided to keep working on this one and share it with the world! Eyes Nouveaux is a replacer for the base game's eyes with all new seamless textures for the eyelashes with the vanilla UV"
Thanks! We love choice... Available in 512/1K/2K, and have a very natural look. Keep in mind this is a replacer mod, and some of the eyes are not playable.
And that will do for today. The fires are stoked, the kettles scrubbed, and the floors are swept. Have a seat and the wenches will serve you. We-B-Open!
