I've been visiting my mother since Thursday evening. I wanted some peace and quiet from my neighbour. Now her neighbours started making noise at night, which they didn't do before :sn-9:. The day before I left, I put a few things on my laptop for my entertainment, including movies (e.g. The Eternals or Frozen), the last few episodes of the third season of The Expanse and the video game The Witcher (the first part of the series). So far, I haven't touched any of the things I've listed and have been watching videos on YouTube instead. I think I'll save the stuff for the holidays :sn-55:.

Next, I'm going to continue working on a mod project for Oblivion (see last paragraph of [url=https://modding-on-the-spectrum.com/viewtopic.php?p=2555#p2555]this post[/url]), which I had paused due to stress with my neighbour and persistent insomnia (I didn't have the energy).

Today, at an Advent party at a day care center, I learned that a good acquaintance (C.) passed away at the beginning of December after a serious illness. I had last seen her at the day care center's summer party in June. A good friend (A.) told me that C. was already very ill in August and her health was increasingly deteriorating. For about two weeks now, the neighbors have been much quieter and I have been less disturbed by them. Apparently my complaint to the janitor did have an effect. I will continue to observe this and postpone my plan to move out for the time being. I'm in no hurry because I haven't given formal notice to move out yet. The only question is how I will explain this to my mother if I decide not to move out. She said that there will always be people who will disturb my peace and quiet immensely because you can hear everything through the walls.


I told you that I had postponed the purchase of the Steam Deck. And it was the right decision when I look at my current account balance. In the last couple of months, I had to make some purchases that were really more important, such as the microwave and recently the two jackets (a between-seasons jacket and a winter jacket). I hope that I'll be able to buy the Steam Deck for Christmas or my birthday, which is at the end of January.
