I've been visiting my mother since Thursday evening. I wanted some peace and quiet from my neighbour. Now her neighbours started making noise at night, which they didn't do before :sn-9:. She has been arguing with them for years because of the constant noise nuisance. Last night, I briefly made myself heard. After that there was peace and quiet and I was able to sleep through the night :sn-23:.

The day before I left, I put a few things on my laptop for my entertainment, including movies (e.g. The Eternals or Frozen), the last few episodes of the third season of The Expanse and the video game The Witcher (the first part of the series). So far, I haven't touched any of the things I've listed and have been watching videos on YouTube instead. I think I'll save the stuff for the holidays :sn-55:.

Next, I'm going to continue working on a mod project for Oblivion (see last paragraph of this post), which I had paused due to stress with my neighbour and persistent insomnia (I didn't have the energy).

Today, at an Advent party at a day care center, I learned that a good acquaintance (C.) passed away at the beginning of December after a serious illness. I had last seen her at the day care center's summer party in June. A good friend (A.) told me that C. was already very ill in August and her health was increasingly deteriorating. A. met C. shortly before she died. A. and the woman from the day care center assured me that C. passed away peacefully. We weren't close friends, but I am very saddened by her death. The memorial ceremony is to be in January. I don't know yet whether I'll go because I'm not sure if I can cope with it emotionally. If the memorial ceremony takes place during my working hours, I wonder if I can take time off work for it.

Today, I got an email from the Google Search Console team telling me that Modding on the Spectrum got 300 clicks via the Google search within 28 days! :sn-48:

I deactivated my test account for the time being so that the true number of members is shown at the bottom of the board index which is 74 now.
