Fingers crossed Selene, Getting to know the neighbors is probably a very good thing. Talk is better than stress. You might want to look into other flavors of noise. I've heard Brown noise includes more frequency spectrums, and masks sounds a little better than white. Couldn't hurt to look. I don't have personal XP with it though.

I want to give you an update on my living situation. At first, I had problems with noise in the new flat, and – I didn't mention this before – I was desperate. I thought I had gone from one hell to another. I made myself heard, but I was careful not to let it escalate. This time, I dared to introduce myself to a few of my neighbours, including the neighbour above me. Because of the loud talking, I eventually started playing white noise through the amplifier (I don't know why I didn't think of it sooner).

Now, the neighbour above me and his girlfriend (?) talk much less loudly. When they're both there, it's enough for me to listen to the white noise on my tablet while watching television. The banging has also decreased.

I'm less stressed now. Overall, I can say that the new flat has improved my situation.

I recently bought a mobile pedestal for the printer, which I'll assemble as soon as I've cleared the corner where it's supposed to go. To speed up the assembly process, I treated myself to a cordless electric screwdriver as a belated Christmas present.

"The stressful period is behind me for now."

'That' is good news. And you deserve it. A lot's gone on the past few months.

I'm headed into stress myself. I just found out there's water damage to the sub floors along the entire south wall of the house I'm selling. I'm now waiting on repair quotes, for the floor and the roof. I may have the chop the price at the knees and do an as is sale.

What really sucks in my case, is this is the actual work I do, but I haven't been able to since my ankle injury. The irony of me paying thousands in labor costs that I would normally be getting paid for is not lost on me :sn-36:

Last Wednesday was the final inspection of the old apartment. It was supposed to be on Monday, but the caretaker found some flaws in the painting (a friend of a neighbor had done the painting). Luckily, my sister was able to fix these flaws, for which I am very grateful to her.

As far as my work is concerned, things are looking good. I was able to get everything done by today's deadline, even though I had very little time after my (moving) vacation. Of course, this meant some overtime, but that was to be expected. The stressful period is behind me for now. On Thursday next week is the Christmas party at the office, which I'm really looking forward to.

Congrats on moving to a new flat! Hope you get more undisturbed rest and sleep in your new surroundings! Airfryers are good for most foods, I use mine for most kinds of meat and vegetables😀 it really saves some work and time when cooking a meal, love it
