What an amazing difference in the feel of the game when you pick the right traits for your character. I'm having a blast just clearing the caves, forts, and Aylied ruins around city isle. I'll hit Journeyman level in Marksman, Sneak, and Alchemy very soon, but I'm totally still a noob, and I love that. All of this is new to me.

I did mod the game slightly. Slimmed down the vanilla hud, switched to a 'dot' reticle, and made the 'infoboxes' about 50% transparent with smaller text. That was it for looks. I added a mod to fix the difficulty slider, and deleveled the quest rewards. I'm done modding. I'm fine with everything else. There were only three .esp files that all go at the bottom of the load order anyway, so I just edited the plugins.txt file manually. It plays much better than I expected. :sn-13:

I love the new update :sn-15:
I downloaded some mods from nexus just to tweak some functionality
but overall I like the way the game feels :sn-14:

Surprisingly enough I had no desire to be a Khajiit in oblivion. I guess 10 years running an inn in Skyrim as a Khajiit wore it out a little for me. I did watch several videos on what not to do when choosing skills LOL. But I will play to my strengths as a stealth archer, and this is the game that created the meme. I'm looking forward to a long slow game.

Nice shots, I'm about to restart a new play through with a new character. I made the mistake of just slapping something together for a test, then found out I love the game. LOL. Time to start over with a real character. I'll upload pics when I do.

My first character in Oblivion Remastered is a Khajiit named ZerJah.

Oblivion and Oblivion Remastered screenshots

Here you can post your screenshots for both versions of Oblivion, the 2006 and the 2025 one.

If you want to know how you can insert the images into a post, a guide is available here.

Useful links:

Oblivion 2006:

Screenshot guide

Oblivion 2025 (remastered version):

Mod to hide HUD: No-HUD-No-Effects

Command list
Ghost | The ability to fly and go through objects | Type Walk to stop flying
ToggleDebugCamera | Flying camera similar to photo mode | Use this mod for a simple photo mode experience[www.nexusmods.com]

Where your screenshots are saved and how to take them:

Oblivion 2006:

The screenshots can be found in the Oblivion folder where the Oblivion.exe is located. The Screenshot key is the PrntScn key. The ability to take screenshots must be enabled in the Oblivion.ini which you can find under C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Games. Open the Oblivion.ini and search for bAllowScreenShot and set bAllowScreenShot to 1:

Code: Select all

bAllowScreenShot=1
Save the Oblivion.ini.

Oblivion Remastered:

If you use Steams screenshot function (F12 key), you can find your screenshots under Steam\userdata\<USER ID>\760\remote\2623190\screenshots\.

It seems that Steam's screenshot key (F12) no longer works when ReShade is active (No-HUD-No-Effects uses ReShade). But the PrntScn key still works. ReShade saves your screenshots under Steam\steamapps\common\Oblivion Remastered\OblivionRemastered\Binaries\Win64.
