Sorry about the arm Selene. Hopefully a little rest and maybe a cold pack for a bit to reduce the swelling.

Hi all, I'm back. It was a nice trip to visit friends and family back east... Oh, and my brother got married :sn-2:

It did bring to light an issue I've been having with my ankle swelling. I spend way too much time at my desk, and I've suspected my gaming chair was the issue. I'm sure of it now. I ordered a new executive high back chair from Wayfair, along with an adjustable height footrest with massage. They should be here Tuesday. I'm ready to junk this chair. I can already feel the swelling beginning again, and I've only been home a day.

Sorry about you pain Selene! Give that arm a deserved long rest and that exercise which caused you pain might be a good thing to avoid in the nearest future. If you have anyone around who can lend you a hand with packing, now is a good time to ask them, I hope you get better soon and wish you a quick recovery!

Welcome back, Avrie! I hope you enjoyed your vacation. :sn-2:

I packed boxes again this Saturday. But this time I couldn't get as much done as I wanted to because the swelling in my arm limited me. I think the swelling was caused by overexertion during rehab exercises. There was an exercise where I had to hold one arm up while holding a resistance band and pulling the band down with the other arm. Yesterday, the pain was so extreme that I finally went to the doctor. He prescribed me a stronger painkiller and told me to cool my arm. At the moment, the pain is bearable. I have to be careful not to make any sudden movements. I hope I'll be fit enough again next weekend.

May he come back well rested! :)

Today was the preliminary inspection of my flat. Some wallpapers need to be removed (because they are starting to peel off) and everything except the bathroom needs to be painted (and a few other things are on the list, such as removing dowels and filling in the holes).

I can relate to the task of moving stuff in boxes, I have moved around a few times. Mostly I have been fortunate enough to just load up my car and drive several times between locations when I have moved. But one time back when I was a student I had to move 1999 kilometers without a car, which meant travelling by airplane, and I had resolve to moving my stuff by transporting it to the local postoffice bit by bit in a "borrowed" shoppingcart from the local shopping mall, and send all the boxes containg all my stuff by mail to my new address. Cost money sure but I was glad that it worked out!
I wish you the best with your moving process and it is a clever move on your part to take your time and not stress too much!

I'm glad that you still find time for the bands, the choir, and your mods alongside your work. If I would work 8 hours a day, I wouldn't have any energy left to work on my mods. But I have accepted that I can only work part-time. I can work overtime for short periods though, but working longer hours permanently will make me ill in the long run. I think this is related to my masking.

In the past, my sleep suffered greatly because I often worked on my mods until 3 or 4 in the morning. Then my neighbor robbed me of my sleep with noise pollution, causing me to develop insomnia. Over the last few months, the situation has improved: my neighbor has become quieter and I have my insomnia largely under control with the help of medication. As for working on my mods, I now make sure that I stop in time to get enough sleep. Of course, I don't always succeed. I then try to go to bed by 2 a.m. at the latest. Because I know how exhausted I will feel if I only get a few hours of sleep.

It was now the second Saturday that my mother had visited me to help me pack the moving boxes. Without her, I would really be lost because I lack experience. We got a lot done today, but we still have a lot ahead of us. Next week, I'll be clearing out more things like dictionaries (I can't even remember the last time I looked something up in one, since I only use the internet for that now), shoes, and electronic waste.

I'll tell a little about my situation right now :)

Here comes a lot of text, sorry

I am tired from yesterdays events and i am writing this sitting at my office enjoying a hardpressed 15 minute rest. Yesterday i started work at 7 a.m., as usual, but what started of as a normal 8 hour workday turned into a 12 hour workday. No time to head home after work as i was already late for band practise ( i play guitar in a couple of local bands). By 10 p.m. i'm finally home and can grab something to eat. I do some problemsolving in the mod i make for oblivion (a troublesome nif had to be tracked down and disposed of) and shortly after 1 a.m. i go to bed.

Right, so i wake up today to yet another buzzy day at work, but today when i get off work at 3 p.m. i'll have to hurry on to a local pub where the other band where i play guitar, have soundcheck at 4 p.m. and playing live at 5 p.m.

I can already predict that i'm going to be strugling tomorrow at work as it will be another late night this evening where i squize in some modding just before bedtime. I am not looking forward to tuesday next week either, as the choir i sing with (tenor btw) is doing a 3 hour long concert and i have no idea what songs we are doing because i missed a few practise sessions lately, (tuesday is every weeks choir practise day btw) i'll have to set aside a lot of time this weekend to rehearse for it. It amazes me how i get any work done on my mod at all sometimes and it should worry me how little i sleep.

Friday is the day i work out at a gym after work and saturday i usually have to do necessary shopping which means 1-2 hour drive by car each way, to the nearest big shopping mall, and walking around shopping for a several hours which is not my favorite part of the experience, well thats what living in a small rural backwater town is like I guess. Which leaves me only sunday to catch up on my sleep, and try to relax. Not complaining though, I know others have bigger issues and I should learn to say no to things :sn-5:

I will continue to talk about my move here, as I want to move on from the topic of conflicts with the neighbour.

Yesterday, I received the rental agreement for the new flat and lots of other documents that I had to sign. Today, I handed everything over to the landlord. The landlord will then send my copies back to me. I have decided to give notice on my old flat on November 30 so that I have a month to move and do the renovation work. I will then have to pay double rent for one month, but in return I will have less stress.

Today, I celebrated a friend's birthday with my best friend and her coworker (the three of them are all coworkers). We went to a burger restaurant. While the three of them ate burgers, I chose a salad with goat cheese and sesame dressing for a change (the salad was very good, by the way). Afterwards, we went to a café. It was very quiet because we were the only guests shortly before closing time. After that, we went window shopping. It was a very nice day and the weather was mostly good.

Glad your return was stress free. Fingers crossed that's a sign of things to come. :sn-2:
