Good luck with your new PC then :).

Yesterday, I worked four hours of overtime so that I could get everything done by today's deadline, and I actually managed it. What a stress. The next deadline for the other family magazine is the day after tomorrow. But it will be much more relaxed because my colleague has already entered most of the events into the online system.

Then yesterday my electric kettle broke. At least it lasted over 10 years. Around 9 o'clock in the evening, I went to a large supermarket to buy a new one, a black one.

Just a quick heads up. My current PC is dying a slow death. The liquid cooling pump failed and I didn't notice for ?days?

Anyway, I designed an entirely new beast, with enough overkill to last me through TES6 if it ever comes out. My new toy will arrive on the 19th. If I suddenly stop making my 'old cat' posts before then, it probably means the old toy gave up the ghost...;l 9 days and counting. Fingers crossed

Happy Bday :sn-50: :sn-48: :sn-56:

We had a nice Korean BBQ nearby, A little different this side of the pond. You get a large bowl, and walk along a buffet line adding meats, veggies, and finally sauces to the bowl. They cooked it in front of you as you cue up to pay, then hand you the finished bowl at the register. We used to go for lunch, very quick, very filling, and very yummy.

I hope you had a great time.

Today I invited two of my friends to an all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ restaurant to celebrate my birthday, which was yesterday. It was my first time eating Korean BBQ; the other two had already tried it on their trip to Amsterdam. It was expensive, but really good. Each person could order five dishes (in small portions) per round. Raw items could be grilled on the grill in the middle of the table. My favorite was the marinated pork belly. We only managed two rounds. We were really surprised that the people at the next table managed six rounds (that's what I call a good appetite). After our restaurant visit, we ended the evening at a café.

Fingers crossed Selene, Getting to know the neighbors is probably a very good thing. Talk is better than stress. You might want to look into other flavors of noise. I've heard Brown noise includes more frequency spectrums, and masks sounds a little better than white. Couldn't hurt to look. I don't have personal XP with it though.

I want to give you an update on my living situation. At first, I had problems with noise in the new flat, and – I didn't mention this before – I was desperate. I thought I had gone from one hell to another. I made myself heard, but I was careful not to let it escalate. This time, I dared to introduce myself to a few of my neighbours, including the neighbour above me. Because of the loud talking, I eventually started playing white noise through the amplifier (I don't know why I didn't think of it sooner).

Now, the neighbour above me and his girlfriend (?) talk much less loudly. When they're both there, it's enough for me to listen to the white noise on my tablet while watching television. The banging has also decreased.

I'm less stressed now. Overall, I can say that the new flat has improved my situation.

I recently bought a mobile pedestal for the printer, which I'll assemble as soon as I've cleared the corner where it's supposed to go. To speed up the assembly process, I treated myself to a cordless electric screwdriver as a belated Christmas present.
