I'm glad to hear that you're okay considering the circumstances.

Glad you're feeling better Selene, you deserve a little peace, as do we all.

I have a bit of news as well, but it's just an FYI. I had a mini stroke (I'm FINE!) I got lucky, it happened while I was sleeping and I almost didn't notice which would have been disastrous evidently. I go in for two surgeries next week. turns out my carotid artery is almost 80% blocked, but basically everything else is fine, and even the cardiologist is scratching his head. My last ultrasound was 6 months ago and there was no blockage. And my diet is so 'clean' because of the Ciliac no one has any idea where it came from, or why it's only in one spot. Only me LOL

Anyway, angiogram on Wednesday, and a stint on Friday next week. I'm also scheduled for a full brain scan. I tried to tell them all they'd see are cobwebs, but they scheduled it anyway. Like I said, I'm fine. I'm an old Tomcat from the streets of NY. The only thing tougher than me are the roaches ;-)

Over the past few weeks, I’ve noticed that I’ve made further progress in my recovery. I really noticed this at my grandad’s birthday get-together (he turned 94, by the way): I talked much more than I did at the last few family gatherings! Usually, I just sit there quietly and listen. I feel more balanced and less tired during the day. I think I’m well on the way to recover from the noise trauma I suffered in my old flat.

I recently bumped into my former neighbour, who used to live next door to me, at the supermarket. She told me that she finally wants to move out too, because she no longer feels at home in the neighbourhood. I told her how I handled the move back then (I’d applied to my landlord to be moved to another flat).

Tomorrow evening, I’m meeting my work colleagues at a restaurant. The boss has invited us all. I’ll also be seeing the colleagues again who work from home in other cities.

The next day, we’ll have breakfast together in the office. Shortly afterwards, the in-house seminar begins and I’ll be the ‘girl Friday’ (setting the table, clearing things away and washing up), and in between I’ll get on with my actual work.

I just saw Avatar 3 at the cinema and it was the right decision to see the film at the cinema. I doubt that the film would have had the same emotional impact on me if I had streamed it.

I was initially hesitant to view the film due to the mixed reviews. Some praised the film to the skies, while others called it absolute garbage. In the end, I decided to make up my own mind and went to the cinema without any great expectations. I was pleasantly surprised. A truly visually stunning film, similar to the other two parts.

The new beast arrived... This is one big SOB, but absolutely silent. It doesn't really fit under my desk. I'll be ripping the desk apart and redoing the wiring today. It was a bit tough to do my morning reviews with everything scruntched onto one monitor. I'll be fixing that first LOL.

Thanks, tomorrow is the day already... I'm surprised how fast time flew by. I'm scheduled for a long weekend of installations, updates, and finally gaming. I can't wait to see how far I can push the 5090.

Good luck with your new PC then :).

Yesterday, I worked four hours of overtime so that I could get everything done by today's deadline, and I actually managed it. What a stress. The next deadline for the other family magazine is the day after tomorrow. But it will be much more relaxed because my colleague has already entered most of the events into the online system.

Then yesterday my electric kettle broke. At least it lasted over 10 years. Around 9 o'clock in the evening, I went to a large supermarket to buy a new one, a black one.

Just a quick heads up. My current PC is dying a slow death. The liquid cooling pump failed and I didn't notice for ?days?

Anyway, I designed an entirely new beast, with enough overkill to last me through TES6 if it ever comes out. My new toy will arrive on the 19th. If I suddenly stop making my 'old cat' posts before then, it probably means the old toy gave up the ghost...;l 9 days and counting. Fingers crossed

Happy Bday :sn-50: :sn-48: :sn-56:

We had a nice Korean BBQ nearby, A little different this side of the pond. You get a large bowl, and walk along a buffet line adding meats, veggies, and finally sauces to the bowl. They cooked it in front of you as you cue up to pay, then hand you the finished bowl at the register. We used to go for lunch, very quick, very filling, and very yummy.

I hope you had a great time.
