Okay, so, I'm going to try my best to be as nice as possible! My game keeps crashing in certain locations for no reason, or maybe there is a reason, but it's probably very tedious and hard to fix! I'm trying my best to fix it, but I'm completely annoyed and fed up! I feel like it's hopeless to fix the issue without making a new save for like my 4th time trying to get the game to work! Everything is just too complex, and I'm sick of the constant downward spiral snowballing of workarounds and troubleshooting for this game! I shouldn't have to play a game where you spend more time fixing it yourself with no help from anybody, not that this exact forum I'm on right now is guilty of that, but the steam forums sure don't help out all the time, and I'm losing my patience !

When multiple mods make edits to the same cell, crashes are more likely to happen when you enter the cell in question in the game as far as I know. You could load your mods in xEdit (the name of the Skyrim version of the tool is SSEEdit) to find mods which are conflicting. When you find the conflicting ones, you may try to change their load order and install a patch for the conflicting mods (if there's one available).

I understand your fear. The internet can be a harsh place. I do my best that this forum stays a safe place. If somebody makes fun of you, I'll put him in his place.

I'm on the Autism Spectrum, too, by the way and have experiences with anxiety and depression. I also know the fear of not being good enough. It's our inner critic that makes us think things like this. My own one was very big and strong in the past and I lacked a lot of self-esteem. After countless conversations about my problems with persons I trust, I could improve my self-esteem and make the inner critic smaller and weaker. I learned to live with him.

Regarding Skyrim and your frustration, sometimes taking a longer break from the game can help. You could play something different until someday you may want to give Skyrim another try. I did this myself with Oblivion and my mod projects for this game. I played and modded it actively until 2018 and returned to the game at the end of 2023.

So I figured out how to install it! I found that there is an error with Save the Ice Runner, also OCW cell settings and nws Follower Framework are switched around in SSEEdit compared to LOOT! I'll see what I can do from here!

I tried playing again, and it still crashes when I enter a certain room, doing one of the college of winterhold missions! It's the one where I meet one of the psijic order members for the first time!

Does the crash occur when no mods are activated? If no, then activate your mods one by one and test each time until the crash happens again in the room in question. This way you can also find conflicting mods.

Also have you sorted your load order with LOOT? It honestly does not look properly sorted, and it looks like there are several overlapping mods as Selene mentioned. It might also help if you actually specified the exact location where you crash.

And as to the answer to your question. Without exact details I'm temped to say yes off the cuff. A save file with everything completed is going to look for the exact matching modslist. If you've added mods that conflict with the save file you will have issues. Modding the game has it's own quirks. It's always best to start a new game when you mod.
