That's good to hear that you started your project :)

Is it too much for the player or too much for you as a mod author or both? I'm just curious. Regarding the players, I think it depends if the player is more casual or more hardcore. Regarding mod authors, I can only speak of myself and creating 17 massive labyrinths would probably be too much for me.

Today, I did a stroll through the biggest park of the city taking some photos of the nature in between - the weather was really good. Before that, I visited the Easter fair to eat something. No, I didn't go on the fairground rides. I stopped doing this years ago. I usually don't stay long so that it doesn't become too overwhelming for me (the noise, the sheer amount of people). Without my noise cancelling headphones or ear muffs I won't take a single step on the fair nowadays. I don't know how I managed to go to the fair without these aids when I was younger. Maybe my noise tolerance was higher.

Probably both. Too much for the player and too much for me. The first labyrinth I'm working on already takes quite a lot of time to create, but it will take the average player probably even more time as there are no quests or quest markers. Puzzles will be more challenging, but only one puzzle per labyrinth. That puzzle can only be solved when reaching the end of a labyrinth where you may find the solution to the puzzle (or not?), although there's more than just one solution.

I already figured 17 massive labyrinths will be too much, and I will probably stick to five: 3 based on destruction magic, 1 on alteration and 1 on illusion. I need those last two for the final rewards, which will be based on alteration and illusion magic.

Since I'm almost never using any magic during gameplay, apart from some restoration magic, this is quite the challenge for me!

I would like to say something to your fair issue, but I really can't. Have you tried the company of somone you trust to get through the fair? Someone you really trust and can depend on? I'm sorry, but I'm not familiar with such anxiety.

It isn't anxiety. I'm just more sensitive to certain stimuli like noise than average. Crowded places can contribute to a visual overload in my brain. So I only make short trips to a fair, about a quarter to half an hour. That's enough to eat one or two things. If I'm with someone, the trip can take a bit longer.

TL;DR 1: I rediscovered handicraft and bought new tools.

Yesterday, I spontaneously bought a Dremel multi-purpose rotary tool along with a workstation for this tool. I want to take handicraft up again and expand my basic collection of tools at the same time. The goal is to build up a tiny temporary hobby workshop in my apartment. It lacks the space to create a permanent workshop so I set everything up each time I want to do handicrafts. My height-adjustable living room table will serve as "workbench". Now I need to buy a washable tablecloth and some clamps to fixate the workstation if needed. A tiny vise would be a good idea as well.

Many years ago, I did some kind of occupational therapy at a daycare facility that possessed a cabinetmaker's workshop. I really loved working with wood. I created most of my work pieces there (I presented some of them in this thread). Since I left the occupational therapy I had the wish to continue working with wood. In the course of time, I acquired some tools, however I never pursued doing handicraft seriously in my own four walls because somehow my motivation was lacking. Now, many years later, I feel that it's different this time. I'm more stable and can manage my motivation (or energy) better. If that would not be the case, I wouldn't have bought these new tools.

TL;DR 2: I found possible causes for some problems I have. I want to practice mindfulness and heal my inner child as next big steps on my journey to self-healing.

Today, I did a deep dive in the web regarding misophonia and this lead me to Quiet BPD:
https://www.verywellmind.com/what-is-qu ... er-5115074
https://eggshelltherapy.com/quiet-bpd/

and Complex post-traumatic stress disorder in connection with sensitivity:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Complex_p ... s_disorder
https://eggshelltherapy.com/sensitivity ... od-trauma/

Many of the things I read in these linked articles hit home. It explains the numbness I feel very often, the internalized anger, why I have problems recalling my past and many other things.

I also found the next big steps on my journey to self-healing which are mindfulness and healing my inner child. I will break these steps up in smaller steps and do them in my own pace to not overwhelm myself (again). Healing takes time. I tried mindfulness some years ago but I wasn't ready for it and/or not patient enough. I'm curious if I succeed integrating it in my daily routine this time.

That's a tool I also have, but till now never used it for handicraft, although for other uses, although I have got lots of wood to use it on. I also have a pirography tool which I have used a couple of times, but not as much as I may have wanted. My latest tool is a micro polishing penn which I have not used sofar, but may use to etch glass. Decisions ... decisions ...
