Ostensibly that should release the souls. The 'other shoe' is there could be an argument made for the corruption of the players soul by ingesting a trapped black soul...

You'll need to read the mod page. This covers a lot, but the old cat agrees it gets very old when every critter goes out of their way to attack the player. Ah'vrie has been using ring of the sky for the same reasons. This might be a viable alternative. Interesting second mod. Needs testing. Tracking for now.
