I have one more idea up into my sleaves. I will try that, but then, if that doesn't work, it's probably over!
Albert, best advice I can offer is try that thing up your sleeves - and if that doesn't work, put the mod aside for a while - don't even think about it for a few days, at least. Sometimes a break is just what is needed in order to return to a task refreshed and with new ideas. After all, it's not like you have a deadline to meet. And continuing to work on it while frustrated will just reduce the chances of finding what is causing the issue - not to mention severe hair loss from tearing it out!

Thanks Steve! My last idea didn't work out either! I think the whole LOD generation process changed things in my mod which may cause the CTDs. I still have all the versions which I have exchanged with Corinze for navmeshing, and may have to rely on these. It seems neither the CK or DynDOLOD is capable to generate LOD for this type of mods. I haven't checked Sovngarde, but I don't think the Hall of Valor has any ground surface underneath! I may have to move the island to a new worldspace, but that's not really what I want to do, and would also take a lot of work.

I will probably start over with the original idea, but without the floating island, maybe the remains of the island crashed down in some mountainous area. I will think it over and leave it to rest for some time!

Before you start over, I want to dive deeper into the plugin with xEdit combining it with internet research to get to root cause of the problem.
Altbert wrote: Sun Jan 01, 2023 1:08 pm That would be very nice! I will create an archive (7z) and provide you with a link in PM, unless others want to take a look at it also. It requires SE 1.6.640 with some CC content (Fishing, The Cause & Umbra), and of course Dawnguard and Dragonborn.
Now I have a reason to buy the Anniversary Edition Upgrade :D.

I don't think you have to go through all that trouble. I know, it's a challenge, and I have posted a link in PM. I don't think LOD generation, either by DynDOLOD or the CK is capable of generating LOD for this type of mod. I hope you can prove me wrong, but I don't have high hopes.

Yeah, don't do any starting over just yet, Albert - maybe Selene can find something that will fix things. If I was on the current game version I would test it - but me updating - well, with my build, that ain't happening if I can possibly avoid it!

Just a quick thought - just like the cities (Whiterun, Solitude, etc) have load doors which you must go through (because they are their own worldspace) even though you can see the cities from afar, I take it that your mod does not? It may just be that you would have to treat it as a separate worldspace, much like the cities are. But wait and see what Selene (or others) may come up with first.

By the way, does it work without LOD being generated through DynDOLOD or SSELODGen? Maybe, if so, you can do without LOD - and the Island is just "magically" hidden from view until you get close enough for it to be revealed (when it "pops" in).

I was already thinking about that, but for now have no idea how to do that. I know how to create a new worldspace and get the island(s) in, but it also needs the islands in the Tamriel worldspace. For now that's a bit out of my league.

Yes, I know it works without LOD gen. It did in Oldrim and also in SSE. Only when I started to create LOD, it all messed up!

Before I go to bed, I will show you the photos of the "old" and "new" tables.

This is the table I used for 10 years:

And this is the table my mother bought about 20 years ago:
new_tablejpg.jpg
It wasn't easy to get her - now my - table into the car of my mother and out of it. But this was not the most difficult part. The elevator stops at the intermediate floors only and we need to go down a couple of stairs before we reach my flat. But luckily, one neighbor helped us to carry the table on the last piece to my flat.

Thanks for the link, Altbert :sn-2:. I will look into this tomorrow after I got home from work as soon as I acquired the Anniversary Edition Upgrade.

Don't get the AE upgrade if you don't want to use it. It's no big deal. If I can't get the mod completed, so be it! I'll just get the island crashed down in some other realm and adapt the story. Sometimes you just have to be creative!
