It's always sad to hear about disputes in the family. I know all about it. My father died in 2006, and after a year my mother started to blame him for everything she didn't like about my and my sister's marriage. Actually I could write a long, long list about all she didn't like. Don't want to think about it. It drove us apart, and I haven't seen her in years.
Take you time with the desk. As long as it gets fixed, but take care of your back. You just have one! Trying to do some housecleaning, I have to take a seat after 10 minutes, because my back starts to hurt very badly.

Re: Regulars' Table
Yesterday, we wanted to eat in a restaurant as the highlight for the second day of Christmas. My mother booked a table for 6 o'clock in the evening. Next time, we will take the bus to the inner city because it was very hard to get a parking place. I tried several times to reach the restaurant by phone telling them we will arrive a bit later but no one answered the phone (I only heard a tape announcement saying that all people are currently occupied or something like that). But this was no problem because there were enough free table. The dinner itself was gorgeous. I choose a teriyaki chicken bowl with sweet potato fries as a side dish. My mother also ordered the fries as a side dish and choose the tuna steak as main course. The crowning glory came in the form of a tiny, tepid and intense chocolate cake combined with red berry compote and a scoop of ice cream.
After we were back at home, I finally completed the assembly of the desk! I asked my mom if I could take a photo of it and publish the photo online. She answered both questions with yes.
So here is the photo of the finished desk:
The flask, the notebook and the mouse are mine by the way. I couldn't resist to take the chance to be the first one who inaugurated the desk .

Re: Regulars' Table
Good day, all! And so another day has dawned in beautiful and sunny Florida, and we have reached the middle of another week! Which means that it is time for another little story - this one about Shakespeare. And here it is:
William Shakespeare - A True Story - viewtopic.php?t=98
I hope you enjoy this little glimpse into a moment in the life of the great Bard. And I hope you all have a fantastic day and do some wonderful things - even if we can't all be as creative as Shakespeare!

Good day, all! I hope you are all enjoying this week between Christmas and New Years!
I received the game Stray as a gift, and I have to say I was hooked at the start. Beautiful graphics and - especially if you like cats - extremely good gameplay and story. Of course, Etienne was very confused when he awoke, stretched, and then immediately began licking his fur - "WHAT?!" (Or, more precisely, "MWROOOW?!")

And a handsome cat he made... Not quite the sophistication of a Khajiit but we can't all be the chosen of a goddess

Re: Regulars' Table
Today, my mom and I visited Grandpa in the hospital. He got an infection some days ago. The first day he was in the isolation ward as Corona precaution. The next day he was transferred to the normal ward (his infection was not Corona). He already keeps the people busy; so he's on the mend. It's planned that he will get out of hospital a few days after New Year's Eve.
