Etienne and Hador engage in another one of their adventures - if you can call sleeping outdoors an adventure! Well, in this case, it is.

In that case we should be holding back on our writings in this thread. Personally I don't think the "Stammtisch" posts should be in this one, but in the end it's up to Selene.

Nobody should hold back anything. But I don't plan to make this area visible to members only either. It would against my initial idea of an open forum. I experienced the dying out of a private forum where a major part is visible to members only. I don't want to see this happen to the Spectrum.

So if you have content in your post that not everyone should read, please use the hide tag to hide this content to guests.

I implemented this tag for the very reason that people can talk about sensible topics more openly without closing off whole areas.

You can find an example where the use of the hide tag was necessary here.

I had a really good day with one of my best friends. We went to an Italian restaurant to eat - no pizza or pasta - schnitzel with hollandaise sauce (and fries) :sn-31:! I'm not sorry for that sacrilege because we really liked the dish :sn-3:. Sometimes you just need plain fare and the traditional restaurants became very rare nowadays. We didn't want to drive into the inner city (because of the chaos with getting a parking spot and too many people on a Saturday afternoon). So we visited a restaurant in the district where I live.

Back at my flat, we watched two sci-fi movies, Rubikon and Vesper. Both movies have humanity at the brink of extinction (due to an environmental crisis) as theme but approach it very differently. The movies showed that there's a ray of hope. I hope that we have this in the reality as well. I end this post right here and will now probably watch some videos on YouTube to change my mood to the better.

Good day, all! Sounds like you had a really great time, Selene! That is so true about traditional restaurants - it seems that all too often, restaurants are trying to be trendy and the next new thing - when what people want most often, is actually predictability as far as food and knowing that it will make them feel good - bringing back memories of other times. Trying different and new foods has its place, but often, what is really desired, is the smells, tastes, and feel of what we remember and like - the sense of being wrapped in a warm blanket on a chilly day!

Edit:

The next day...

My schedule for today:

- home office (check; the weekend can come :D)
- art therapy group (check)
- dinner (check)
- the changes to Neurodiversity hub (done! :sn-2: )

Yesterday...

The things I had planned for today (some changes to the Neurodiversity hub) will probably come tomorrow. It was a long day, had mental health support talk giving me a lot of input. Then endured the public transport to the mall and back to the home (too crowded, too noisy, etc.). It's better to have a fresh mind to implement the plans.

I bring the day to a close with some episodes of JoJo.

I practice to call it a day, especially regarding my mod projects. I could work through the night to get everything ready for the release of the follower mod. But secretly I know that is not good for me and I had another sleepless night the day before (went to bed at 5 am or so). Tomorrow will be time enough.

Since I'm retired I always make sure I go to bed before 2.30am. That way I am always up before 9.30am, although sometimes a little later. Just think about how much sleep you need and when you want to get up the next morning. Although ... I often find to much comfort in my warm bed and it may get an hour later.
