The controversy
There are contradictions regarding the registered office of the developer Mundfish - if it's based in Cyprus or still a Russian based one. If the latter is the case, one could argue whether you support Russia in the war by buying the game. I read different articles about this and I can't say which one tells the truth.
There are alleged financial ties to Russia according to this article on the website of the escapist magazine.

The Ukraine asked officially that Atomic Heart should be banned from all major platforms on a global scale due to the alleged financial ties to Russia.
