I decided to go to the hairdresser before I started my working day so I could fully concentrate on my work without interrupting it for a longer period of time. At the hairdresser, I didn't have to wait to get a haircut. Now I'm looking "presentable" again. The hairdresser said that my old hairstyle looked like a catastrophe ( :sn-12: ) after she had cut my hair. Other people said to me that longer hair looks good on me. Different people, different opinions.

If I work some hours at the weekend, I think I can manage to get everything done until the data export of the events calendar for the March/April issue of the family magazine. The data export is on Tuesday.

There's something strange going on! Just tried to post my frustrations of today and after hitting submit I only found the "Good to know" post! Where did my post go? I recall this happened to me before. Two users hitting the submit button at exactly the same time, it seems only one of the posts will be posted. I will try again.

Earlier I have tried to post my today's frustrations, to no avail. When I hit the submit button nothing happened. I will try again, somewhat a little more frustrated.

I didn't like playing a game, apart from a few minutes posting my last screenshot. I didn't feel writing further on my family history. I didn't feel writing further on Ysmir's tales. Watching some telly? Nothing worth watching this evening. A movie on DVD? My player stopped functioning!

It seems to be ... one of these days ...

I still have no clue what causes it. This needs more research. It could be the server itself, it could be an extension, incompatibilities between extensions.

I looked in the error log but the board didn't gave any clues regarding your issue. But I found other errors regarding SMTP.

Google somehow lost my app password for the SMTP server. Without it the board cannot send emails to users which is needed for registrations. If you tried to register recently and didn't get any confirmation email, I finally found the cause. I'm sorry for the inconvenience and do my best to solve the issue as soon as possible.

Edit:
I renewed the app password for the SMTP server and could successfully send a test email from the board to my email account. So registrations and the contact form work again. Should the problem arise again, please send me a message via Nexus Mods which I check almost everyday.

Sofar this has happened to me twice, and it always seemed I was submitting my post at the same time as another poster, in particular the admin, actually sofar only the admin.

I did some research regarding your posting error and found this thread:
https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?p=5677815

One post mentions a flood limit* which was set to 15 seconds on the board. So you probably tried to submit your post within these 15 seconds rightly after I submitted mine. I set the limit to 10 seconds now.

I added the "Help, I can't register..." issue to the Mini FAQ section of the User Guide. The issue is fixed now but I leave the advise in the FAQ just in case ;).

Edit:
I did some further research to find out why the Google/Gmail app password that is required for the email function of the board got removed. I'm not alone with this problem:
https://support.google.com/mail/thread/ ... word?hl=en
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/688 ... word-rails

In the first linked thread a user mentions that the app password got removed after he changed the Google password. And I did change the Google password a few days before the registration issue occurred. So it's likely the cause.

What did we learn (aka memo to myself): It's a good idea to look into the error log of a board more often to be aware of such issues more early.

Yesterday's get-together of my family went smoothly. No one did argue. I think we could settle the dispute between some members of my family. It was a good idea that I brought them together after all.

I wanted to finish off that day with playing another round of Two Worlds II. The neighbors thought otherwise. Loud music in the middle of the night again. Not too long ago, I finally, after months of enduring it, had the courage to go upstairs to ask them politely to turn the volume down (some months before that, I asked a concierge if he could ask them to turn the volume down what he did). Yesterday, I wasn't polite anymore. My patience was gone. I yelled at them. No reaction (music was probably too loud that they didn't hear me). I took my broom and hit it against the door frame (and made a lot of dents into the metal part of the broom :sn-5:). I heard a "Hey?!". Having their attention I tried to explain why I did that as loud as I could - I was still in rage mode but I refrained from being verbally abusive. That didn't work either. So I hit the wall with my fist once and repeated "I'm so angry!" several times in the hallway. It turns out it amplifies the loudness of my voice. The music stopped.

Sometimes you need to bring out harder guns if everything else didn't work. Yes, I could have asked a concierge again but the one that had night shift this time is not as helpful as the other one. Let's see how the neighbors behave this night... I hope my reaction didn't make it worse. I don't want to start a war with my neighbors. My mother has one with hers. So I know what that can do to you.

I've got an idea: I could make a copy of the house rules, mark the passages about nighttime peace and put the paper into their mailbox. Because I have the feeling that they don't know this rule completely. The last time I talked to them personally, one of them mentioned he is allowed to play loud music on a Saturday night (but it was Friday at that time) - nighttime peace is everyday. But regarding my reaction yesterday, this could also be counterproductive. What do you think?

Edit:
I reconsidered my plan regarding putting the house rules into their mailbox. This would give them ammunition to fight back. The next time I try to keep cool and consult the concierges instead (including the less helpful one).

I would take the advice from Avrie over in the Coffee House forum.

I had something similar a few years ago. A very irritating noice between 7 and 8am. I knew where it came from, but took a subtle approach. Made a small note, starting with "To my neighbours from number 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7 and 8" (of course in Dutch). I have never heard that noise again! Obviously that's not an approach you can use for your issue.

As Avrie suggested: make it the burden of the concierge!
