There, much better no? Ah'vrie always likes to start the weekend off with happy fires. They warm more than the room as his mother liked to say. Now to put fresh water to the flame while this one composts the ash, tends the garden, and scrubs the kettles. The life of an innkeeper is not very glamorous, but satisfying.

You'll want to read the retex mod page carefully. It basically creates a custom body, and has requirements. What makes it interesting is the body is boringly bland by intent. When this one saw the images for the fist time they looked 'black and white' They aren't. The overlay mod has the retexture as a requirement, and allows you to choose your own pattern. Some are interesting. Worth a look. Thanks

This mod will make fireplace at inns change dynamically, it will turn on at night then it will turn off in the morning.
This one obviously doesn't use complex lighting overhauls with dynamic shadows, but that's okay. Most of the inns in the old cat's game would be too dark to see the tables. Should work okay with vanilla lighting templates (where nothing is dark)
Your game your way. Most of the customers in the old cat's inn like to see what they are eating. Besides, in Skyrim it's also about warming the room.

It's giving the old cat a headache. Honestly Ah'vrie is not impressed with the size and thickness of the banding, or the size and number of the 'bolts'? which are never used on barrels. Taste is subjective, and these look well done, but not for old cats. This one would like to see tapered staves, and pressure fit banding for barrels. In many ways the vanilla barrels these replace look better. Sorry, no cookie.

All of them are patches for JaySerpa's 'Gate to Sovngarde' swapping the NPCs for Southpawe's Northborne counterparts.
You can't fault this one's taste, but it does showcase one of the downsides of using collections when you don't agree with some of the choices or wish to make changes. A more experienced modder would have simply installed the collection, then removed the collection and kept the downloads. Then simply added Nothbourne near the bottom. However, Jay included custom patches, so this method allows the swap without breaking the patches. Kudo's for the work around. Have a cookie.
For experienced modders, it's simpler to edit one or two patches

Having played enough Oblivion recently to recognize how birthsigns integrate with character creation process, the old cat is a little more open to the idea of integrating them into Skyrim. Tying the magnitude of the effects to the calendar is inspired. This is still a WIP, as the standing stones have not been integrated into the system yet.
Make sure to read the mod page carefully as your choices have consequences, and they should. 2 cookies, and for once this shouldn't be thrown on the pile. Worth a look. A lot of thought went into this. Tracking

The old cat wanted to showcase the author not the mod. Their work is definitely beginning to grow on this old cat. Lydia and Rayya have a much more 'genuine' feel than this one picked up on at first. Our lovely Gnewna noticed it straight away. The old cat took a little longer. The facial sculpting is extremely detailed. And they did a remarkable job with Delphine. Gerdur... they were obviously going for a look, but the head is too small and the neck feels stretched. She's the only one out of the group the old cat isn't thrilled with, but the twin pigtails give her the look of a working woman. This one gets 2 cookies.

Mixed feeling on this one. The old cat has alwas wanted telekinesis to work on lever switches, and shooting an arrow to push a button? LOL that was written for old cats. But this one has to draw the line at an arrow flipping a lever... Unless you're using depleted uranium arrows with the scorpion king's bow that's just beyond silly.
The thing is, no one is forcing you to shoot levers, and the rest of the mod is something this old cat has wanted for years. This one gets a cookie.

The old cat wanted to showcase the author not the mod. Their work is definitely beginning to grow on this old cat. Lydia and Rayya have a much more 'genuine' feel than this one picked up on at first. Our lovely Gnewna noticed it straight away. The old cat took a little longer. The facial sculpting is extremely detailed. And they did a remarkable job with Delphine. Gerdur... they were obviously going for a look, but the head is too small and the neck feels stretched. She's the only one out of the group the old cat isn't thrilled with, but the twin pigtails give her the look of a working woman. This one gets 2 cookies.
